Exquisita alacena genuina de estilo provenzal realizada en la Francia del siglo XIX. Presenta una estructura sencilla compuesta por dos cuerpos independientes para el fácil transporte. El cuerpo superior es una vitrina con dos puertas acristaladas, ideales para exhibir vajilla, cristalería o libros, gracias a los dos estantes horizontales. Por su parte, el cuerpo inferior presenta dos puertas paneladas, pensado para almacenamiento. Remata la pieza un exquisito copete tallado, con líneas curvas y un motivo central clásico, característico del estilo provenzal. El decapado y la pátina que presenta el mueble es original de época XIX, tratándose de un color pastel en tono verdoso. Esta pátina se logra mediante la aplicación de pigmentos blanquecinos. El resultado es un acabado resistente a la humedad y al calor, que con el paso del tiempo adquiere mayor carácter y encanto.

El estilo provenzal, como su nombre indica, nace en Francia, en la región de la Provenza, en el siglo XVIII. Se rige por el estilo del Luis XV, dando como resultado un arte marcado por un aspecto rústico y romántico debido a que es la adaptación de esta estética a las casas de campo de la aristocracia francesa. Estas segundas viviendas buscaban servir como una suerte de escape y lugar de descanso de la frenética vida, por lo que se decantaron por una decoración reconfortante, inspirada en la naturaleza y paisajes que envuelve sus hogares.

An exquisite, genuine Provençal-style sideboard made in 19th-century France. It features a simple structure composed of two independent sections for easy transport. The upper section is a display cabinet with two glass doors, ideal for exhibiting tableware, glassware, or books, thanks to the two horizontal shelves. The lower section has two paneled doors, designed for storage. The piece is crowned by an exquisite carved crest with curved lines and a classic central motif, characteristic of the Provençal style. The distressed finish and patina are original to the 19th century, a pastel greenish color. This patina is achieved by applying whitish pigments. The result is a finish resistant to humidity and heat, which acquires greater character and charm over time.

The Provençal style, as its name suggests, originated in France, in the Provence region, during the 18th century. It was influenced by the Louis XV style, resulting in an art characterized by a rustic and romantic aesthetic, as it was an adaptation of this style to the country homes of the French aristocracy. These second homes served as a kind of escape and place of rest from the frenetic pace of life, so they favored a comforting decor inspired by the nature and landscapes surrounding their homes.
