 En 1981 Adam Ant impuso su reinado. También fue el primero en intuir la potencia de una nueva forma de promoción, el videoclip. Dotado de una bella imagen y de una fuerte tendencia a disfrazarse, Adam Ant realizó vídeos espectaculares para sus nuevos éxitos discográficos: 'Stand and deliver' y 'Prince Charming'. En este último vídeo se disfrazaba de Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood y Alice Cooper. Durante estos meses el rostro de Adam Ant aparecía en todos los periódicos y las tiendas de discos vendían equipos para parecerse a él.

Con "Prince Charming" consiguieron meterse en las listas de medio mundo. Recuerdo alucinar con aquel arranque que tiene la canción. Con gritos a lo sioux (o alguna otra tribu americana), o eso me parecía a mi.Luego recuerdo ir a casa de mi familia y allí comprarme un single que vi. Pertenecía al mismo album pero aqui ese tema nunca se estrenaría como sencillo. Se trataba de "AntRap". Algo extraño a la vez que original. Un rap acapella con sólo una complicada y buena percusión de fondo, cuando todavía nadie escuchaba raps. Nadie podía decir que la banda no era original o arriesgada en sus propuestas. Tema difícil hasta para mi que acabo por gustarme después de muchas escuchas. Y es que la música de esta banda no entra siempre a la primera, pero cuando te engancha ya no te suelta.Su tercer single "Stand and deliver" fue también todo un éxito, todos en la misma linea y siguiendo ese concepto que habían creado desde casi sus inicios.Desgraciadamente con este disco se acabaría la carrera de la banda y su líder continuó en solitario apagándose poco a poco con los años (Como siempre aquí, se le fue perdiendo la pista).

Prince Charming is the third and final studio album by English new wave band Adam and the Ants, released in November 1981. This album features bass player Gary Tibbs in place of Kevin Mooney, the bassist on Kings of the Wild Frontier. The album included the band's two number-one UK hit singles "Stand and Deliver" and "Prince Charming" as well as 'Ant Rap', which went to Number 1 in Australia. The album itself peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart. The hidden track, 'The Lost Hawaiians' is an instrumental remake of 'Los Rancheros' from their previous album, Kings of the Wild Frontier.
Prince Charming was released in November 1981 by Columbia Records. The album spawned the two UK number-one singles "Stand and Deliver" (with a different ending from the single version) and "Prince Charming", which reached number one in April and September 1981 respectively, and "Ant Rap" which reached number three in January 1982 when it was remixed.
Writing in Smash Hits magazine in November 1981, Ian Birch gave the album 5 out of 10 and commented "Gone are the strong melodies that made Kings of the Wild Frontier so addictive; in are elaborate details (the intros are the highpoint here)...The surface might be glossily busy but it's no substitute for good songs. In his retrospective review, AllMusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote that "the songs just aren't there", stating that it "simply has style and sound – which, in retrospect, isn't all that bad",[1] while Rolling Stone called it "exactly the same album [as Kings of the Wild Frontier], except with a blue cover.
