Adam Ant es el nombre artístico de Stuart Leslie Goddard, solista y cantante de la banda Adam And The Ants, con la que comenzó su fama. En los años ochenta se hizo conocido a lo largo del mundo con éxitos como "Goody Two Shoes", ya como solista.

En 1982 Adam Ant comenzó su carrera solista acompañado únicamente de Marco Pirroni. Su gran acierto fue ese año con el álbum "Friend or Foe", el cual incluía el single "Goody Two Shoes" el cual lo colocó como número #1 en el Reino Unido y Australia, y #12 en los Estados Unidos.

Friend or Foe is the debut solo album by Adam Ant, released in October 1982 by Columbia Records. The album peaked at number 5 in the UK, Adam Ant's highest charting solo album.

Following the disbandment of Adam and the Ants earlier in 1982, Adam Ant began a solo career with the single "Goody Two-Shoes". The single reached No.1 on the UK Singles Chart in June 1982, and also reached No.12 in the US. Friend or Foe was released in October 1982. It reached No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming Adam Ant's most successful solo album, and was certified Gold by the BPI for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. In addition to "Goody Two-Shoes", the album included two more hit singles: "Friend or Foe" (UK No. 9) and "Desperate But Not Serious" (UK No. 33).
