-is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch.

Journey had their greatest commercial success between 1978 and 1987 when Steve Perry was lead singer; They released a string of hits, including "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981), which became the best-selling track in 2009's iTunes history among unreleased songs in the 21st century.

Escape, Journey's seventh and most successful album, reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned another of their most popular singles, "Open Arms."

Sales resulted in twenty-five gold and platinum albums, in addition to the fifteen-time platinum RIAA Diamond Certified greatest hits album of 1988.

They had nineteen US Top 40 singles (the second most without a Billboard Hot 100 number one single behind Electric Light Orchestra at 20), six of which reached the US Top 10 and two of which reached #1 other Billboard charts and a No. 6 hit on the UK Singles Chart in "Don't Stop Believin'".

Their worldwide sales have exceeded 80 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time.

Journey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the class of 2017.
