NUCLEUS FEAT. IAN CARR – LIVE AT BBC 1970 (LP, ENDLESS HAPPINESS)
Live at BBC 1970 captures the explosive energy and groundbreaking sound of Nucleus in their formative year. Led by trumpeter Ian Carr, this legendary British jazz-rock ensemble pushed fusion boundaries with electrifying performances recorded live for the BBC. Fresh from the release of their debut Elastic Rock, the band was on a creative high—winning Montreux, performing in New York, and redefining electric jazz in the UK.
This LP brings together key tracks from those historic sessions, including two versions of “Elastic Rock”, “1916: The Battle of Boogaloo”, “Twisted Track”, and more—performed by the original sextet of Carr, Brian Smith, Karl Jenkins, Chris Spedding, Jeff Clyne, and John Marshall. Intricate, fearless, and sonically adventurous, this is fusion at its sharpest and most immediate.
