Oliver Nelson wrote two four-part suites specifically to be played by the Berlin Dream Band in 1970: "Berlin Dialogue for Orchestra" and "Impressions of Berlin." The only "names" among the personnel are trumpeter Carmell Jones, trombonist Slide Hampton and Ake Persson and altoist Leo Wright; Nelson is also featured a bit on alto. None of the individual pieces caught on but taken as a whole, this out-of-print LP should please big-band collectors and serves as a good example of Oliver Nelson'swriting style.
