Talking Heads – True Stories

The accompanying film, True Stories (1986, directed by David Byrne), is a satirical Americana vignette parade set in the fictional town of Virgil, Texas, starring John Goodman, among others. Many songs appear in character versions (e.g., Pops Staples sings "Papa Legba," Tito Larriva sings "Radio Head," a school choir sings "Hey Now") – the LP "True Stories," however, features the Talking Heads versions. "True Stories, A Film by David Byrne: The Complete Soundtrack," featuring the film versions and score pieces, was released for the first time in 2018.

The album captures the mood of the film in an impressive way and is a successful example of the band's versatility.
