The province of Teruel, in the Autonomous Community of Aragon of the Kingdom of Spain, is characterised by its diverse and well preserved countryside, its history which goes back thousands of years and which translates into unique artistic and cultural features, its rich gastronomy based on products of certified quality and its full range of tourist establishments and services. The ten districts making up the province are very varied and retain the charm of locations yet to be discovered, where tradition and modern life combine to create unique attractions such as the palaeontological park Dinopolis, the Dinosaur Cultural and Leisure Park, the festival with drums called Ruta del Tambor y El Bombo, part of the Easter Week celebrations in Lower Aragon, the medieval city of Albarracín, the motorsports complex Motorland Aragon and the ski resorts at Valdelinares and Javalambre.

How to get there. The province of Teruel is located in the north-east third of Spain, and is the most southerly province in the Autonomous Community of Aragon. It is the natural gateway between the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean. By car, the main routes to the province are the dual carriageway A-23 (Saragossa-Valencia) and the national roads N-211 (Madrid-Barcelona), N-420 (Cordova-Tarragona) and N-232 (Castellon-Burgos). The Saragossa-Valencia and Saragossa-Barcelona railway lines pass through Teruel; and the closest international airports are in Saragossa, Castellon and Valencia.
Cómo llegar. La provincia de Teruel se sitúa en el tercio noreste de España, siendo la provincia más meridional de la Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón y es el paso natural entre los mares Cantábrico y Mediterráneo. En coche, las principales vías de acceso a la provincia son la autovía A-23 (Zaragoza-Valencia) y las nacionales N-211 (Madrid-Barcelona), N-420 (Córdoba-Tarragona) y N-232 (Castellón-Burgos). Las líneas férreas Zaragoza-Valencia y Zaragoza-Barcelona comunican Teruel por tren; y los aeropuertos internacionales más cercanos son los de Zaragoza, Castellón y Valencia.

Esta guía pone al alcance del visitante todos los servicios turísticos disponibles en la provincia, tanto alojamientos, como restaurantes, centros expositivos, empresas de turismo activo u oficinas de información. Los establecimientos se ordenan por localidad, lo que permite al visitante acceder de forma sencilla al conjunto de la oferta presente en cada pueblo.
Culture and heritage. A visit to the province is like entering a museum with thousands of years of history. It becomes a journey taking us back to prehistoric times and then through to the Middle Ages, from Roman to Islamic cultures, from renaissance to modernist architecture The province of Teruel contains treasures as singular as Mudejar architecture and Levantine cave paintings, both declared UNESCO World Heritage, and historical-artistic towns which, as is the case for Albarracín, Mirambel and Rubielos de Mora, retain the charm of olden times. Equally unmissable are the festivals such as the Easter Week celebrations in Lower Aragon or the many historical recreations held throughout the year, two examples that show the visitor the richness of popular culture in the province. To complete the range of attractions there are cultural routes such as those called Camino del Cid, following the route of the legendary knight, and Route of the Iberians, celebrating Iberian heritage, which offer an extensive range of museums and exhibition centres. There are also three Cultural Parks, spaces that highlight much of the richness of the province when it comes to landscape and heritage.

Como si se tratase de un museo con miles de años de historia, la visita a la provincia se convierte en un viaje que nos traslada de la prehistoria a la edad media, de la cultura romana a la islámica, de la arquitectura renacentista a la modernista La provincia de Teruel esconde tesoros tan exclusivos como la arquitectura mudéjar o el Arte Rupestre Levantino —reconocidos por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad— y conjuntos histórico-artísticos que, como en el caso de Albarracín, Mirambel o Rubielos de Mora, conservan el encanto de épocas pasadas. Igualmente indispensables son expresiones festivas como la Semana Santa del Bajo Aragón o las múltiples recreaciones históricas que se celebran a lo largo de todo el año, dos ejemplos que muestran al visitante la rica cultura popular presente en la provincia. La oferta se completa con itinerarios culturales como el Camino del Cid o la Ruta de los Íberos, con una extensa nómina de museos y centros expositivos, así como con tres Parques Culturales, espacios que ponen en valor buena parte de la riqueza paisajística y patrimonial de la provincia.
